Set in a fantasy world, the series follows Davion, a Dragon Knight who hunts dragons to make the world a safer place. During a battle between demons and dragons, an ancient dragon fuses its soul with Davion's. Alongside lunar princess Mirana and his friend and protector Marci, Davion sets out on a journey to stop Terrorblade, a demon who wants to kill dragons and collect their souls to fuel an even greater evil force. Created by Ashley Miller and streaming on Netflix, the story combines 2D animation with some 3D details.

Trivia about DOTA: Dragon's Blood

The first book was animated by South Korean studio Reve, while Studio Mir handled the second and third books. The series blends anime and Western animation styles.
The promotional music video "Basshunter Dota Revival" was published on YouTube the same day as the premiere. In it, Swedish musician Basshunter sings while playing Dota 2.
The second book was scheduled to premiere on January 6, 2022, but it was ultimately released on January 18 of that year.
Ashley Edward Miller chose to cast new voice actors for the characters of Dota 2 instead of bringing back the original video game actors; the cast includes Yuri Lowenthal, Troy Baker and Lara Pulver.
Valve gave the creative team complete freedom to modify characters and elements of the Dota 2 universe during the development of the series.
Miller asked Studio Mir for a more naturalistic performance with less exaggerated reactions, because he felt that approach better suited the tone of the story.
Netflix initially presented the series as an eight-episode project and announced that Miller would serve as showrunner and executive producer.
There is no official confirmation of a fourth season: after the third book premiered in August 2022, Netflix has announced neither a renewal nor a cancellation.
