The story takes place in 1950s Spain, in an apartment in central Madrid. Montserrat, whom almost everyone calls Montse, makes a living sewing from home. She is no longer young, having spent much of her youth looking after her little sister. The sister goes out to work at a shop and brings some money into the household, while Montse barely leaves the apartment. Macarena Gómez plays Montserrat and Nadia de Santiago plays her sister, in a film directed by Juanfer Andrés and Esteban Roel. The routine of the two women, closed off and silent, begins to crack.

Álex de la Iglesia uses this film to launch a program supporting new talent interested in fantasy, suspense and horror, with a fresh approach to storytelling.
Jonathan Holland of The Hollywood Reporter described Hugo Silva's performance as "literally and metaphorically flat," though he defended the film as an entertaining horror movie.
