Synopsis of Cable Girls
Madrid, 1928. The newly founded Compañía Telefónica Nacional de España hires women for a job that until then had been done by men: switchboard operator. Alba, Marga, Ángeles and Carlota arrive at a modern building in the city determined to earn a living with a decent salary and some independence. But their surroundings and the society of the time do not look kindly on young women working and making their own decisions. Between shifts, calls and romances, the four face a company with strict rules and a society that shuts doors on them. The series, created by Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira and Teresa Fernández-Valdés, airs on Netflix and stars Blanca Suárez, Yon González, Ana Fernández and Nadia de Santiago.
