After attending a ball at the Royal Palace, she receives news of her father's death and discovers a secretly signed pact that forces her to marry Julio, a man she has never met. She must leave the Villa de Madrid with her siblings and travel to northern Spain, where she will stay at the home of her aunt, Doña Victoria.
