Synopsis of Don't F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer

The Netflix documentary series, created by Mark Lewis, opens with two very different people: Deanna Thompson, a data analyst at a Las Vegas casino, and John Green, from Los Angeles. Both are part of a group of amateur internet investigators. The starting point is a viral video posted to Facebook in 2010 titled "1 Kittens 2." In it, a man plays with two kittens before sealing them in a vacuum bag and sucking out the air until they suffocate. The creator of the footage, Luka Magnotta, had gained international notoriety with that video, and the group decides to go after him. The first episode shows how that online hunt gets organized.

«A shocking true crime story of online justice gone wrong.»

Mark Lewis explained that the team avoided presenting the series as "serial killer porn" and focused instead on digital vigilantism, complicity and the pursuit of fame online.

The British-American production was handled by Raw Television, with Felicity Morris serving as producer.
