Trivia about Scandal: Story of an Obsession

Part of the audience accused the series of glorifying child abuse for depicting a relationship between a minor and a 42-year-old woman.

A controversy claimed that the courtyard, entrance, offices and pool of Los Espinos School, the one recreated in the series, were actually those of Mirabal School in Boadilla del Monte (Madrid).

The series is a Mediaset España production for Telecinco, with Aitor Gabilondo as executive producer.

Since February 8, 2023, the series has aired at 10:00 PM, after its 10:50 PM premiere.

The first episode drew 1,120,000 viewers and a 10.9% share, the best ratings of the only season, which has eight episodes.

The series was filmed in several locations across Madrid and the Valencian Community, including Port Saplaya, Mareny Blau, Nules, Dénia, Cullera, Castellón and the city of Valencia.

The final episode drew 978,000 viewers and a 7.3% share, after the seventh installment had recorded 922,000 viewers and 6.8%.

Telecinco changed its programming strategy twice in February 2023 after the series hit a low of 6.7% share and 938,000 viewers.
