Synopsis of The Adventures of Tintin

Tintin is a reporter with no known family who, in reality, acts more like an adventurer or detective. He travels the world accompanied by his inseparable dog Snowy, with a clear goal: to stand up to the forces of evil, defend the weak and the oppressed, and satisfy his insatiable thirst for adventure. On every journey he is joined by the hot-tempered Captain Haddock, the detectives Thomson and Thompson, the absent-minded Professor Calculus and the world-famous singer Bianca Castafiore. Hergé created these characters in Belgian comics. The series, a Franco-Canadian production, reached France 3 in 1991 through Ellipse Programme and Nelvana.

Trivia about The Adventures of Tintin

In the episodes Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon, the rocket was animated in 3D, a technique that was rare in 1991.
The series' backgrounds are more detailed than those of the original books, and it includes more cinematic camera shots.
The background music and main theme were composed by Ray Parker and Tom Szczesniak, and excerpts from the score were released on CD and cassette.
Critics have praised the series for being "generally faithful" to the originals, with compositions taken directly from the comic panels.
Canal+ re-aired the series starting August 20, 2003, because it had been very successful during its first broadcast.
The series won the Gemini for Best Animated Program or Series in 1993, with Clive A. Smith, Patrick Loubert and Michael Hirsh recognized as its creators.
It also won the 7 d'Or for Best Children's Program in 1993, along with a nomination at the 1994 CableACE Awards in the International Children's Programming category.
The production adapted 21 of the 24 Tintin albums published by Hergé, leaving out Tintin in the Land of the Soviets, Tintin in the Congo and Tintin and the Lake of Sharks.
