Elf

One Christmas Eve, at an orphanage, a baby crawls into Santa Claus's gift sack and ends up in his workshop at the North Pole. Although he is adopted there and raised as an elf, as he grows he becomes three times taller than the other inhabitants. It soon becomes clear that he will never fit into the world of elves; what he needs is to find his real family. With this goal in mind, he travels to New York, where he discovers that life isn't just about skating and eating candy, and he once again feels out of place. He does manage to find his father, Walter, a children's book editor obsessed with work and money who is on Santa Claus's naughty list. Buddy also finds a new mother and discovers that his ten-year-old stepbrother doesn't believe in elves, Santa Claus or Christmas. In truth, everyone seems to have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas.
