First Blood

John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) is a Vietnam War veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. One day, he arrives in a small town in Oregon, where Sheriff Will Teasle (Brian Dennehy) arrests him for vagrancy. Rambo manages to escape from the police station and takes refuge in the forest, where he uses his survival and combat skills to face the police officers hunting him. Colonel Samuel Trautman (Richard Crenna), Rambo's former commanding officer, arrives in town to try to negotiate with him and prevent a massacre. Rambo will have to fight his own demons and the law enforcement officers who want to capture or kill him.
