Hugo

‘Hugo’ tells the story of Hugo Cabret (Asa Butterfield, ‘The Boy in the Striped Pajamas’), an orphaned boy who lives in hiding at a Paris train station in the year 1930. The son of a clockmaker, and having inherited his gift for precision with machines, he tries to rebuild an automaton left unfinished by his father. He is joined by an eccentric girl, Isabelle (Chloë Grace Moretz, ‘Kick-Ass’), and an elderly toymaker (Ben Kingsley, ‘Schindler’s List’), who turns out to be George Méliès. Once they meet, they venture together into an unexpected world full of fantasy, where each of them finds their own answers to the riddles of both the earthly world and their imagination. In an age of invention, machines and science fiction, anything is possible, even dreams coming true.
