New Orleans. Jim Garrison is the city's district attorney and, although the assassination of President John F. Kennedy already has an official explanation, he refuses to accept it. The conclusions of the Warren Commission name Lee Harvey Oswald as the shooter, but Garrison begins to suspect that there was a broader plan. He wants to find out what really happened in Dallas and whether the government itself had any part in the president's death. To do so, he gathers a team of investigators and listens to witnesses whose accounts do not fit the official report. Kevin Costner plays Garrison in this film directed by Oliver Stone, which opens with the district attorney determined to follow every lead, however unlikely it seems, and to confront the version everyone considers closed.
