Some time has passed since Inspector Amaia Salazar (Marta Etura) confronted her mother, but she still feels the danger has not gone away. The Civil Guard and Judge Markina (Leonardo Sbaraglia) consider the case closed, although she does not share that peace of mind. In Elizondo, a young girl dies suddenly, and the cause turns out to be suspicious. Doctor San Martín (Paco Tous) handles the forensic analysis, and Amaia wants to understand what really happened. Her search begins in the Baztán Valley, where the shadow of the earlier events seems to linger and every new piece of information unsettles her more.

Trivia about Offering to the Storm

According to the English Wikipedia, the screenplay is written by Luiso Berdejo and novelist Dolores Redondo, and the first two films in the trilogy are also adapted from her novels.

«Offering to the Storm» and «The Legacy of the Bones» were shot back to back over 19 weeks, with more than 120 sets and 95 locations spread across Navarre, Catalonia, Aragon and Madrid.

The shoot brought together more than 100 actors and a crew of over 200 people, according to production data published before the release.

The film was scheduled to open in Spanish theaters on March 27, 2020, but the pandemic postponed that release, and Netflix decided to premiere it worldwide, including in Spain, instead.

The production had planned its premiere at the 23th Málaga Film Festival, but the in-person premiere was affected by the health crisis.

Patricia López Arnaiz won the Best Actress in a Spanish Film award at the 65th Sant Jordi Awards for her work in the film.
