Porter (Mel Gibson), his wife (Deborah Kara Unger) and his friend Val (Gregg Henry) pull off a heist with ease and make off with $140,000, but dividing the loot is going to be the tricky part. Val wants it all for himself, the money and Porter's wife, and decides to get rid of his partner in crime. Apparently he succeeds, but Porter is not dead. Some time later, fully recovered from the wounds inflicted by his "good friend," he returns hardened, broke and relentless, determined to get revenge at any cost and by any means necessary for the theft of his money and his wife. But Porter is in for a big surprise when he discovers that Val was a member of a powerful organization he must now face.
