Trivia about The Bling Ring

Emma Watson joined the project in late February 2012, and her character, Nicki, is based on Alexis Neiers, one of the girls from the original case.

In its U.S. opening, the movie debuted on five screens with 214,395 dollars, the best per-screen average of Coppola's career, ahead of Lost in Translation.

Rapper Kanye West recommended using "Super Rich Kids," a Frank Ocean song that had not yet been released when the soundtrack was recorded.

Payment records show that the production company and Sofia Coppola paid police officer Goodkin 12,500 dollars for his participation in the movie, from August 2011 to March 2012.

The DVD and Blu-ray extras include a tour of the house of Paris Hilton, which was both a crime scene and a filming location.

Before shooting, Sofia Coppola had the cast stage a home burglary to observe what mistakes they made and bring that experience to their characters.

The production team visited 43 clubs and bars in Los Angeles to find locations that recreated the protagonists' nighttime route.

The film won four awards and received seven nominations, including a nod for Sofia Coppola for the Un Certain Regard prize at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.
