The Proposal

Margaret (Sandra Bullock) is a powerful, strict New York publishing executive who suddenly faces deportation to Canada, her home country, because of a visa problem. To avoid it and keep her visa in the United States, the clever executive claims she is engaged to her young assistant Andrew (Ryan Reynolds), whom she has been tormenting for years. Andrew agrees to play along, but with a few conditions. The couple then heads to Alaska to meet his eccentric family, and the city executive, used to keeping everything under control, finds herself caught up in surreal situations that defy all known logic. With wedding plans underway and an immigration agent on their trail, Margaret and Andrew agree to stick to the plan despite the consequences.
