Everyone has forgotten The Beatles. Everyone except Jack...

Jack Malik is a singer-songwriter trying to make it in Lowestoft, a coastal town in England. His performances draw very small crowds, and he is starting to resign himself to the idea that music won't give him what he was looking for. His manager, Ellie Appleton, a childhood friend and math teacher, refuses to watch him give up and encourages him not to quit. Jack gets by on small gigs and the feeling that his talent goes unrecognized. The film is directed by Danny Boyle and stars Himesh Patel alongside Lily James.

Trivia about Yesterday

Danny Boyle became convinced Himesh Patel was the right actor after hearing him sing "Yesterday" and "Back in the U.S.S.R." during auditions.
The film began as a 2012 screenplay titled "Cover Version," written by American Jack Barth, who had spent decades trying to sell scripts.
Richard Curtis credited the Harry Potter joke to a suggestion from American comedian Sarah Silverman, whom they thank in the credits.
Ana de Armas appeared in some of the promotional material made before the final cut, which led to a lawsuit for 5 million dollars against Universal Pictures.
