Synopsis of Amor Real
Mexico, mid-19th century, in the period following independence. Matilde Peñalver y Beristáin (Adela Noriega) belongs to an aristocratic family that is forced to keep up appearances. She falls in love with Adolfo Solís (Mauricio Islas), a penniless soldier, and trusts that her father, a kind man, will consent to the wedding. Her mother, Augusta, and her brother, Humberto, do not accept the relationship because of the difference in social class. As the family's finances begin to crumble, Manuel Fuentes Guerra (Fernando Colunga) appears: young, handsome and newly the heir to a great fortune, the perfect candidate to save the Peñalver family. Matilde will have to choose between the love she feels and her duty to her family. The series, based on the work of Caridad Bravo Adams, airs on Las Estrellas.
