Synopsis of Blue Mountain State

Blue Mountain State is a college comedy created by Chris Romano and Eric Falconer that airs on Spike and stars Darin Brooks. It is set at the fictional Blue Mountain State University, which has a long football tradition. Its team, The Goats, is far from a model sports program. Alex Moran, a junior quarterback from Cheyenne, Wyoming, has talent and natural leadership, but he would rather spend his college years partying and chasing girls. He shares a house and a room with his childhood friend Sammy Cacciatore, the team mascot. Between games, benders, and hazing, the team tries to salvage the season under the watchful eye of coach Marty Daniels, a former NFL player.

Trivia about Blue Mountain State

Over the years, the series has built a cult following, largely thanks to its availability on Netflix streaming.
Fans often create petitions and Facebook pages urging Spike to revive the series for a fourth season.
In its first season, the series averaged 949,000 viewers across its first six episodes and improved its time slot among men ages 18 to 24 by 165%.
The movie's Kickstarter campaign reached its goal of $1.5 million on May 11, 2014, and the film was released in February 2016.
In February 2024, Deadline reported that a revival of the series was in development, with Alan Ritchson, Darin Brooks, and Chris Romano as possible returning cast members.
The Chamandy ice rink at Lower Canada College in Montreal was used as a filming location.
Darin Brooks landed the role of Alex Moran after making Chris Romano laugh during his audition. At the time, he was known for his work on the soap opera "Days of Our Lives" and was looking to break into comedy.
The series was canceled in 2012 after three seasons, even though the cast had previously been told it would return for a fourth and that Lionsgate was negotiating to produce two consecutive seasons.
