What Season 5 of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

Season five follows the forensic investigators of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, whose routine involves walking crime scenes, collecting evidence and turning it into the proof that points to the culprit. Gil Grissom, a reserved and unsociable entomologist, reads each scene through insects and minute details, while Catherine Willows, his right hand and a single mother, brings a police officer's instinct. The cases unfold in parallel, from an alleged alien near Area 51 to the returning Blue Paint Killer. Personal conflicts weigh as heavily as the evidence. Grissom reopens an old trial, and Ecklie, newly promoted to be his superior, worries about the damage the lab could suffer to its reputation. Catherine, meanwhile, lives through the arrest of her daughter, Lindsey.
