Trivia about Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman

Superman's flight was achieved by suspending the actor with a harness and wires, which were later erased from the scenes in post-production.

The sets were designed with a timeless look, so the series could appear to be set in the 1950s or in the near future.

John Shea was chosen to play Lex Luthor for his looks and his charm as a romantic leading man, since LeVine wanted a romantic rival for Superman.

The series reversed the traditional hairstyles of Clark Kent and Superman. Superman wears his hair slicked back, while Clark has a naturally falling forelock.

According to one executive, the series was aimed at women rather than comic book fans.

The series was nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards and won three of a total of fourteen nominations, according to the IMDb record.

"Lois & Clark" won the 1994 Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Television Series and also received two Primetime Emmy nominations that same year.

For the pilot episode, the scene where Clark walks up a wall was shot in a rotating room, synchronized with the movement of Dean Cain to place the wall beneath his feet.
