June 1972, Washington. A security guard at the Watergate complex discovers a door with its latch taped so it can't lock, calls the police, and officers arrest five men at the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee. The next day, The Washington Post assigns young reporter Bob Woodward, played by Robert Redford, to cover the case in court, where it is considered a minor matter. Woodward begins combing through courthouses and offices in search of answers. He works alongside Carl Bernstein, played by Dustin Hoffman, and the two suspect that something much bigger may be hiding behind the incident. Alan J. Pakula directs the film from a screenplay by William Goldman.

Woodward, Bernstein, you're both on the story, now don't fuck it up.
Richard Nixon: The White House has had no involvement whatever in this particular incident.
