American Gangster

New York, 1968. Frank Lucas is the taciturn chauffeur of a powerful Black mobster in Harlem. When his boss unexpectedly dies, Frank seizes the opportunity to build his own empire. Thanks to his talent, he becomes not only the city's top drug dealer, flooding the streets with higher-quality product at better prices, but also a highly respected public figure. Richie Roberts, an incorruptible cop sidelined for his honesty who knows the streets well, realizes that an outsider to the crime families is climbing the ladder of power. Both Roberts and Lucas share a strict moral code that sets them apart from others and makes them two lone figures on opposite sides of the law. When they finally meet, a confrontation between them will be inevitable.
