Blast from the Past

In 1962, Calvin Webber (Christopher Walken), a brilliant but somewhat paranoid scientist, lives with his wife Helen (Sissy Spacek) in Los Angeles. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, a plane crashes near the Webber home, and they, convinced that a nuclear war has broken out, take refuge in a shelter built by Calvin. 35 years later, their son Adam (Brendan Fraser), born in this kind of time capsule, emerges to see whether the Earth is still fit for human life.
