John (James Caviezel) is obsessed with the death of his father, a firefighter (Dennis Quaid), who died 30 years earlier in a fire. One day, a strange weather phenomenon lets him talk to him through an old ham radio, allowing him to communicate with the past. John warns his father about the mistakes made during that fire, and in doing so prevents his death. However, this twist of fate will set off other tragic events.
