Reign

Reign follows Mary, Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane), a young queen who still lives in a convent in 1557. Her future is already decided: she must marry the heir to the French throne, Francis II of France (Toby Regbo), to whom she has been betrothed since childhood. The wedding would seal an alliance between Scotland and France to stand against England, which threatens to invade Scotland. Upon arriving at the French court, Mary is reunited with her best friends, Greer, Lola, Kenna and Aylee, who also accompany her as ladies-in-waiting. As the days pass, Mary notices that Francis has doubts about the marriage, while the queen mother, Catherine de' Medici, watches the union with suspicion. The series, created by Laurie McCarthy and Stephanie SenGupta, airs on The CW.
