Synopsis of Leverage

Nathan Ford, a former insurance investigator, has quit his job after a decision he considers unfair: an insurance company refuses to pay for his sick son's treatment. Devastated and with his personal life in ruins, Nate takes on a job that leads him to assemble an unconventional team. It includes an expert thief, a hacker, a con artist with a great talent for disguises and a man who specializes in getting rid of thugs. Together they plan heists against millionaires and corrupt officials to return what was stolen to those who have been wronged. Created by John Rogers and Chris Downey, the series airs on TNT and stars Timothy Hutton as Nate Ford.

Trivia about Leverage

Producer Dean Devlin wanted to make a series the old-fashioned way. He missed Mission: Impossible and The Rockford Files, and wanted to have fun.

The entire series was shot, edited and post-produced digitally, without using film or videotape at any point in the process.

The premiere drew 5.6 million viewers and delivered TNT's best audience among viewers aged 18 to 49 for an original series during the regular season.

The series won the award for Favorite Cable Drama at the 39th People's Choice Awards, on January 9, 2013.

The writers and the producer conceived the first season, which had 13 episodes, as a complete story in case the series was not renewed.

In 2020, filming began in New Orleans on a 16-episode revival titled Leverage: Redemption, with most of the original cast returning.

Beth Riesgraf shot part of an action scene at 4 a.m., on top of a 40-story building in Chicago, after a 17-hour workday; a stunt double performed the jump.

TNT canceled the series on December 21, 2012, after five seasons, and the episode that aired on Christmas Day was produced as a possible series finale.
