Trivia about Magic Mike

After hearing Steven Soderbergh's pitch over the phone, Matthew McConaughey accepted the role of Dallas in ten minutes. It was the second time they had accepted a role that way.

McConaughey had no striptease scene in the original screenplay, but he asked for one, and it ended up becoming the film's final dance number.

Channing Tatum worked as a stripper in Tampa, Florida, for eight months, when they were between 18 and 19 years old, and the plot is based on that experience.

In one weekend, Magic Mike became the first time two R-rated films each topped 21 million dollars at the box office.

On its opening weekend, Magic Mike was 73% female, and 43% of the audience was over 35 years old.

At the MTV Movie Awards, Joe Manganiello showed up dressed as a stripper firefighter while presenting the award for Best On-Screen Transformation.

Filming wrapped in less than a month and, because of the cast's conflicting schedules, some of the dance numbers weren't rehearsed together until the day they were shot.

On a budget of roughly 7 million dollars, the film grossed 167.3 million worldwide, more than 23 times its production budget.

How pregnant did you get that girl's mouth last night?
Fact is, the law says you cannot touch! [smiles] But I think I see a lotta lawbreakers up in this house tonight...
[to The Kid] You are the husband they never had! You are that dreamboat guy that never came along!
Will you welcome to the stage, the one, the only... Magic Mike!
