Synopsis of ONE PIECE

Monkey D. Luffy is a young pirate who can stretch his body like rubber. Together with his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, he sails the seas with two goals at once: to fulfill his personal ambitions and to find the One Piece, a legendary treasure hidden by the former Pirate King, Gold Roger. To achieve this, they must reach strange islands and escape the Marines, who pursue them relentlessly. Along the way, they will make new allies and face rivals who have eaten Devil Fruits, granting them unique abilities. The series, created by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda, streams on Netflix and stars Iñaki Godoy as Luffy.

Trivia about ONE PIECE

Netflix committed not to premiere the series until Oda was satisfied with it. The author read the scripts, left notes, and kept a close eye on the adaptation.

At Tudum São Paulo, the main cast presented the premiere date and first trailer in person. The presentation was livestreamed on YouTube and reached 78 million viewers.

After the second wave of promotional cards was handed out at Rutgers University, unknown thieves broke into the building and stole the remaining cards from a locked office.

On February 18, 2025, Netflix named Moose Toys the lead global toy licensee for the series.

Rotten Tomatoes audiences give the first season a 95% approval rating, based on more than 10,000 reviews.

In the second half of 2023, it was Netflix's most-watched series among individual seasons, with 541.9 million hours viewed and 71.6 million viewers over four months.

The soundtrack includes the singles «Wealth Fame Power» and «My Sails Are Set», the latter featuring Aurora.

Netflix renewed «One Piece» for a third season, titled «One Piece: THE BATTLE OF ALABASTA», with a premiere planned for 2027; production began in Cape Town in November 2025.
