Pacific Rim

When legions of monstrous creatures called Kaiju begin to emerge from the sea, a war breaks out that will claim millions of lives and drain humanity's resources for endless years. To fight the giant Kaiju, humanity designs a special kind of weapon: enormous robots called Jaegers, each controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are linked through a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers offer little defense against the relentless Kaiju. On the brink of defeat, the forces protecting humanity have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes: a washed-up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi). Together they set out to bring back a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they are humanity's last hope against the Apocalypse that is approaching.
