Powder

In a small American town, Sheriff Barnum investigates the death of an old man and discovers his teenage grandson living on the farm. With no other living relatives, the boy has lived isolated from the rest of the world, which he knows only through the books he has read. Sent to a state orphanage for troubled boys, the strange young man struggles to fit in socially with the other residents. His unusual appearance—albino and hairless—along with his extraordinary intelligence and, above all, his unusual and astonishing supernatural powers, provoke fear and ridicule from the local townspeople.
