Shoot 'Em Up Trivia

La idea de la película nació tras ver una escena de tiroteo de Hard Boiled en la que Chow Yun-fat rescata a recién nacidos de unos gánsteres.

Davis hizo el animatic de las escenas de acción con una tableta Wacom y la aplicación iMovie, al principio como afición. Ese material fue su presentación para encontrar productor.

Davis escogió a Paul Giamatti, habitual de papeles de buen tipo, para interpretar al villano y evitar el estereotipo de un villano físicamente imponente.

Del presupuesto se destinaron 70.000 dólares a 6.000 squibs, y durante la producción se usaron ochenta armas de fuego.

La campaña de marketing de julio de 2007 corrió a cargo de la agencia londinense New Media Maze e incluía una web que vendía cochecitos de bebé a prueba de balas.

En noviembre de 2007, la Advertising Standards Authority prohibió en el Reino Unido dos anuncios en los que Owen y Giamatti aparecían sosteniendo armas.

El bebé que interpreta a Oliver fue elegido antes de nacer: la producción seleccionó a una mujer embarazada de gemelos cuyo parto coincidía aproximadamente con el inicio del rodaje, para contar con un recién nacido real.

Paul Giamatti manejó un arma de fuego por primera vez durante la preparación de la película; tanto él como Clive Owen asistieron a una escuela de armas para familiarizarse con distintos modelos.
