Synopsis of Haven

Audrey Parker, a special FBI agent played by Emily Rose, arrives in Haven, a small town in Maine, to investigate a routine case. She soon finds herself caught up in the return of "The Troubles," a wave of supernatural afflictions that has already struck the town at least twice before. Open to the possibility of the paranormal, Audrey finds a personal connection in the town that could lead her to the mother she never knew. Alongside local police officer Nathan Wuornos, she must help the affected residents and protect the community from the effects of these curses. The series, created by Jim Dunn and Sam Ernst, airs on Syfy.

Trivia about Haven

The creators' original idea had no supernatural elements, and Stephen King asked, "Where's the supernatural element?" when reading their notes.

ABC developed the project in 2007 but ultimately passed on it after several setbacks, including the Hollywood writers' strike of 2007-2008.

The series was the first produced by pay-TV network Syfy worldwide, with the exception of Canada and Scandinavia.

Much of the filming took place in Chester, Nova Scotia, where the local arena served as the recording studio.

The release trailer features the song "Short Change Hero" by the band The Heavy.

Syfy announced in January 2014, several weeks after the fourth season finale, its renewal for a fifth season of 26 episodes.

Syfy canceled "Haven" in August 2015 after five seasons; the second half of the fifth season, already filmed, aired as a final run of 13 episodes beginning in October of that year.

Colin Ferguson, known for "Eureka," appeared in the fourth season as a police officer from Haven, in a casting addition announced by Syfy for episode 14.
