The movie opens in Istanbul, where James Bond, played by Daniel Craig, finds MI6 agent Ronson badly wounded. Next to him is a laptop missing its hard drive, whose contents are still unknown. Bond goes after the person responsible, a hired killer named Patrice, with the help of field agent Eve. The chase starts in a car and continues on a motorcycle across the tiled rooftops of the Grand Bazaar, until the two men end up on a moving train. Sam Mendes directs this opening, which sets in motion from the very first minute the search for stolen material that MI6 needs to recover.
