In 1984, minutes before the unveiling of the Macintosh at the Flint Center at De Anza College in California, Steve Jobs (Michael Fassbender) faces a last-minute problem. The computer's demo voice fails to say "hello," and Jobs demands that engineer Andy Hertzfeld fix it. If he doesn't, Jobs threatens to humiliate him in public during the event. Jobs relies on Joanna Hoffman (Kate Winslet), his right-hand woman, who tries to keep the project afloat as the clock ticks down and the presentation draws near. The film, directed by Danny Boyle, opens in that atmosphere of pressure, with a team that has very little time and a boss who tolerates no mistakes.

I forced the vote because I believed I was right. I still believe I'm right, and I'm right. Now, I bled that night, and I don't bleed. But time's done its thing, and I really haven't thought about it in a while.
