August 1968. Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Tom Hayden, Rennie Davis, David Dellinger, Lee Weiner, John Froines and Bobby Seale plan a protest against the Democratic National Convention, being held in Chicago. All of them oppose the Vietnam War, and their goal is to make their voices heard at the political event. The opening shows the group in the middle of organizing, with the convention in their sights. Eight different names share the same opposition to the war. The film does not focus on a single lead. Aaron Sorkin writes and directs the film, which brings together an ensemble cast with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Sacha Baron Cohen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Keaton, Eddie Redmayne and Mark Rylance.
