Nicholas "Oz" Oseransky is a dentist who lives with his wife in a house on the outskirts of Montreal. She treats him with contempt, and his mother-in-law gives him no peace either. At the office, his assistant Jill jokes about offering him a price to make Sophie disappear, although he doesn't seem to take it seriously. Oz looks for a little calm in a gray, uneventful routine. But when a new neighbor moves in on the other side of the wall, something doesn't add up. Soon after, Oz discovers that he is Jimmy "The Tulip" Tudeski, a Chicago hitman with a price on his head who is trying to start over in the quiet outskirts of Montreal.

Trivia about The Whole Nine Yards

Matthew Perry shot the movie in Montreal during Friends' summer break, between seasons 5 and 6.
Bruce Willis took over the entire penthouse at the Intercontinental Hotel and threw all-night parties, sometimes with the cast and crew heading straight to the set.
Perry took Xanax pills to make sure he got some rest, even though he knew the tranquilizer could react badly with alcohol.
The movie took in 13.7 million dollars on its opening weekend and topped the box office.

Quotes by The Whole Nine Yards

  • It's not important how many people I've killed. What's important is how I get along with the people who are still alive.
  • Room service? Yes this is room 519. I'm gonna need a bigger bottle of Scotch!
  • I'm still a virgin. I mean I haven't killed anyone yet.
  • [every time Oz doesn't answer, Frankie hits him in the stomach or kidneys, then hugs him to stop him collapsing] My brother, believe me, you don't want to dance with me all night.
  • Sophie Oseransky: You do this for me, and I give you your divorce. And if you don't do this for me, I swear I'll make your life so damn miserable it will make these past few years look like a pleasure cruise.
  • Everybody dies. Sooner or later.
