We Bought a Zoo

In “We Bought a Zoo” we meet Benjamin Mee (Matt Damon), a newspaper columnist and adventure writer who, as a widowed father, faces the challenge of raising his two young children. Hoping that starting from scratch and building a new life will restore the family's spirit, Mee quits his job and buys an old country house on about eight hectares of land outside the city, which comes with a one-of-a-kind extra: a zoo called Rosemoor Animal Park, home to dozens of animals in the care of head zookeeper Kelly Foster (Scarlett Johansson) and her enthusiastic team. With no experience, little time and a very tight budget, Mee sets out, with the support of his family and the local community, to reopen the zoo. Now, Benjamin is no longer telling an adventure story, but living his own.
