Youth

At a spa in the Swiss Alps, Fred Ballinger, a retired orchestra conductor, enjoys a quiet vacation with his daughter Lena. He is joined by his close friend Mick Boyle, a film director who is working on a screenplay with his team and can't seem to finish it. Between mountain walks and unhurried conversations about the passing years, the rhythm of the hotel begins to shift. One day, an emissary sent from London arrives at the spa with a proposal Fred never expected: Queen Elizabeth II wants him to conduct music in public again. The emissary's mission is to persuade him, and Fred must decide whether to accept an invitation that forces him to look back at his career.
