Chespirito

Chespirito is a comedy sketch series created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños, who also stars in it and airs on Las Estrellas. Each story is built around the characters the author has created over the course of his career. The premise centers on Chómpiras and Botija, two small-time thieves who try to steal with very little skill. Chimoltrufia, Botija's wife, serves as the group's voice of conscience and often looks for honest work to get by. Neighbors and law enforcement officers surround them and complicate every plan. What drives each sketch is the contrast between these characters' ambitions and their clumsiness in pursuing them, while the humor relies on everyday situations taken to absurd extremes.
