Synopsis of Hey Arnold!

Arnold is a 9-year-old boy with a football-shaped head. He lives with his grandparents in an apartment building in a multiethnic neighborhood of Hillwood, a fictional city in the state of Washington. He is a baseball-loving dreamer who is in fourth grade at 118 Public School with his friends. Each of them has a very different personality and family, and the neighborhood offers the group endless adventures. Created by Craig Bartlett and aired on Nickelodeon, the series follows his daily life at school and on the streets. Despite its childlike tone, it addresses the lack of attention Helga receives from her parents and Arnold's longing for parents he cannot remember. Arnold is a reluctant hero who always ends up solving some problem and making the right decision, and courage, confidence, honesty and sincerity run throughout the show.

«Adventure is never more than a bus stop away.»

Trivia about Hey Arnold!

Bartlett based the series on a supporting character named Arnold that he had created while working on Pee-wee's Playhouse.
It was Nickelodeon's first animated series in which the kids were voiced by real children rather than adults.
Jamil Walker Smith continued voicing Gerald after his voice changed, because the team did not find the audition candidates suitable.
In 2020, Hey Arnold! The Music, Volume 1, the first official release of the series' music, was issued on vinyl, featuring 45 minutes of unreleased material.
In 2018, Jim Lang revealed that Netflix, Amazon and Apple were approached about making a sixth season of the series.
The pilot episode was shot on 35-millimeter film and produced with hand-inked animation, before the series adopted its usual production process.
Nickelodeon initially ordered twenty episodes, and production of the first season began in January 1995, a few months after the pilot was finished.
To prepare "Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie," Nickelodeon brought together several of the original voice actors, including Lane Toran, Anndi McAfee, Olivia Hack and Francesca Marie Smith.
