Synopsis of Cow and Chicken

Cow and Chicken are two anthropomorphic animal siblings who live with their human parents in a house in a Virginia residential neighborhood. Cow is seven years old, lively and naive, and enjoys dragging her brother into her childhood games. Chicken, eleven years old, is a quarrelsome, rebellious chicken who wants to prove he is more mature than his age suggests, although sometimes he blurts out words whose meaning he doesn't know. The two constantly argue, and most of their tangles come from this dysfunctional relationship. On top of all that, there's Red Guy, a demon who disguises himself as different characters to trick them. Created by David Feiss and aired on Cartoon Network, the series explores the clash between Chicken's desire to grow up and Cow's need to remain a little girl.

Trivia about Cow and Chicken

To land the role of Cow, Charlie Adler imitated a line that Ellen Greene sang in Little Shop of Horrors, and the impression had the audition room in stitches.
David Feiss met Michael Dorn through Van Partible, creator of Johnny Bravo, and was impressed by the quality of their voice.
Its premiere, on July 15, 1997, boosted the audience of children aged six to eleven by 77%, according to the Spanish-language encyclopedia.
In its final stretch, the "Smelly Telly episodes" aired with a card of fourteen scents that viewers rubbed according to the number that appeared on screen.
The show was nominated for several awards during its run, including the Annie and the Emmy, and it has also spawned merchandise such as mugs and T-shirts.
The episode "Buffalo Gals" aired only once, on February 20, 1998, and was replaced by "Orthodontic Police" after the network received complaints.
The pilot episode of 1995 was pulled by Cartoon Network due to its depiction of Satan and tobacco use by minors; afterward, the letters the network received helped it order a full season.
The series spawned the spin-off "I Am Weasel," which aired alongside some episodes of "Cow and Chicken" and was later developed into its own series.
