Synopsis of MAD

MAD is an animated sketch comedy created by Kevin Shinick for Cartoon Network, which premiered on September 6, 2010. Each installment brings together standalone shorts and sketches that parody movies, TV shows, video games and celebrities. There is no fixed main cast, since most characters appear only in individual episodes, and the format changes from one short to the next. The series uses a wide variety of animation styles and borrows characters and recurring segments from MAD magazine, where it originates. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, it turns pop culture into fodder for satire and airs after Regular Show.

Trivia about MAD

The Latin American dub was heavily criticized by audiences for its lack of variety in voice actors, since nearly the same performers almost always voice the characters, such as the Urban brothers.
The dubbing studio changed in season four: Sensaciones Sónicas handled the first three seasons and SDI Media handled the fourth.
Before developing this series, Kevin Shinick had worked on Robot Chicken, another animated comedy built around sketches.
The series received a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2012 for Outstanding Short Format Animated Program for the episode "Kitchen Nightmares Before Christmas / How I Met Your Mummy."
The "Spy vs. Spy" segment stopped airing after the second season, according to an interview about the production published during the early stage of the series.
The creative team explained that the show used a "film festival" approach, with short sketches created in different animation styles within each episode.
The first batch commissioned for Cartoon Network consisted of 26 episodes, aired at 20:30 during the series' launch.
The show ended in 2013 after four seasons and 103 episodes, with no documented announcement of a fifth season for this production.
