Synopsis of ted

Set in 1993, Ted is a foul-mouthed teddy bear with plenty of attitude who lives with John Bennett, a 16-year-old guy in Framingham, Massachusetts. The Bennett house is also home to Matty, John's hot-tempered Vietnam veteran father, and Susan, his mother. John's cousin Blaire lives with them while she attends a nearby college. In the first episode, Ted has to start going to high school with John, which he hates and which gets him into all kinds of trouble. The series, created by Seth MacFarlane, who also voices Ted, streams on Peacock.

Trivia about ted

Seth MacFarlane first asked Mark Wahlberg to reprise the role of John, but since he was busy with other projects, the series ended up being a prequel to the films.
Each main cast member received a Ted teddy bear to practice eyeline, staring into space during filming.
The series was produced with ViewScreen, a new program developed at Fuzzy Door Productions that allowed special effects to be viewed in real time during filming.
In August 2024, Puck reported that the second season came close to being canceled over production costs of around $8 million per episode.
As of April 23, 2026, the second season had accumulated more than 1.2 billion minutes viewed on Peacock, making it the most-watched scripted comedy across all streaming platforms in that period.
