The Golden Compass

The story of a 12-year-old girl who will take a long journey to try to save a friend. Along the way she will encounter all kinds of strange creatures, witches and other characters from a parallel universe… In this singular world, where human souls take the form of animal companions, this girl stands between the end of free will and the beginning of a new era. Lyra Belacqua is only 12 years old, but even she knows that doing what you're told instead of what you feel is right can have very different results. A rebellious orphan who lives as a recluse at Jordan College in the city of Oxford, Lyra belongs to a world that is one of many parallel worlds: unseen worlds, intangible dimensions where humanity develops with subtle differences.
