Begin Again

Dan Mulligan was a record label executive, but the music industry has changed and he struggles to keep up. In New York he is estranged from his wife, Miriam, and their teenage daughter, Violet. After he is fired in front of the girl, Dan drinks through a long night that ends in a bar on the Lower East Side. There he meets Gretta James, a singer who performs at the venue. The film is directed by John Carney and stars Mark Ruffalo as Dan, a man trying to find his place in a music world he no longer recognizes. His job and his family are falling apart at the same time, and he doesn't know how to put either one back together.
