Constantine

John Constantine has been to hell and back. He was born with a gift he never wanted: the ability to clearly recognize the angels and demons walking the earth in human form. Constantine was driven to suicide to escape the tormenting clarity of his vision. But he failed. Now, marked by his suicide attempt, he patrols the earthly border between heaven and hell, hoping in vain to earn his way to salvation by sending Lucifer's minions back to the abyss. When a desperate yet skeptical police detective enlists his help to solve the mysterious death of her beloved twin sister, their investigation leads them through a world of demons and angels that lies just beneath the surface of present-day Los Angeles. Caught up in a catastrophic chain of supernatural events, the two find themselves inextricably involved and try to find their own peace at any cost.
