Synopsis of Joey

Joey Tribbiani leaves New York and the era when his friends were his family to make it as an actor in Los Angeles. There he reconnects with his flamboyant hairdresser sister Gina and ends up sharing an apartment with his 20-year-old nephew Michael, a young man with a genius-level IQ. Joey doesn't read much, but he gets along great with people, which makes him the best friend Michael could ask for. The series follows his efforts to break into Hollywood while living with a very quirky family. Created by Scott Silveri and Shana Goldberg-Meehan, it airs on NBC and stars Matt LeBlanc, reprising the role he played on Friends.

Trivia about Joey

David Schwimmer, who played Ross on Friends, returned to direct two episodes of Joey after having directed several of the original series.
Robert Costanzo was the only actor, besides LeBlanc, to play the same character in both series: Joey's father, Joey Tribbiani Sr.
The last episode aired on NBC on March 7, 2006 was watched by 4.1 million viewers, the lowest audience of the series.
The pilot of Joey was watched by 18.6 million American viewers on NBC, and from there the audience kept falling.
Ashley Scott played Allison in the pilot that never aired, and Andrea Anders replaced her with the name Alex.
Joey won the People's Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy, and Matt LeBlanc won Favorite Male TV Star.
