She's not shy. She's not discreet. And she won't leave.

Jack Sadelstein is an advertising executive who lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Erin, and their children. His orderly, calm life has one weak spot: every year, around Thanksgiving, his twin sister, Jill, comes to visit, and he can't stand her. Jill is unemployed, and her constant demands, along with her passive-aggressive attitude, turn Jack's house upside down. He tries to keep his cool in front of his family while putting up with a houseguest who shows no hurry to leave. The movie is directed by Dennis Dugan and stars Adam Sandler, who plays both brothers.

Trivia about Jack and Jill

Worldwide box office was 149,673,788 dollars against a budget of 79 million dollars, according to the box office section of the English-language version.

Dugan explained that they never wanted to follow the approach of Mrs. Doubtfire with prosthetics, and that they aimed to make Jill look like a female version of Jack.

In 2024, Pacino explained that he accepted the role at a time when he had run out of money, because his accountant was in prison.

The satirical account that comedians opened on Twitter on the movie's release day to criticize it was shut down that same night after a complaint from a Sony executive.

To film the scenes in which Adam Sandler appears opposite himself, the crew repeated the camera movements exactly using motion control systems and used an earpiece so he could hear his earlier performance.

"Jack and Jill" was the first movie in Razzie history to win in every category it was nominated in, taking ten awards, including Worst Picture, Director, Actor and Actress.

The production initially considered basing the final gag on Starbucks and a "Frappuccino," but the company turned it down; they then struck a deal with Dunkin' Donuts that led to the "Dunkaccino."

The movie opened in 3,438 theaters and debuted in second place at the U.S. box office, with 25,003,575 dollars in its opening weekend.
