Mr. Deeds

Longfellow Deeds runs a pizzeria in Mandrake Falls, a New Hampshire town where everyone knows everyone. His routine revolves around the shop and his friend Jan, and he entertains customers by reciting poems he writes himself. One day, lawyers for Blake Media inform him that the company's founder, a media billionaire, has suffered a mishap during an expedition to Everest. With no legitimate heirs, the company looks for his closest relative, who turns out to be Deeds, a man who knows nothing about business or big cities. Directed by Steven Brill and starring Adam Sandler, the film follows his first steps in New York, where the board of directors begins to watch him with suspicion.
