When Innocence Ends

India Stoker turns eighteen, and on the same day she loses her father, Richard, in a car accident. The girl lives with her mother, Evelyn, in a secluded mansion in Connecticut, a place where family routine has suddenly fallen apart. Evelyn is an emotionally unstable woman, and India, with a sharp sensitivity and a calm that hides what she feels, must learn to hold the household together without her father. At the funeral appears Charlie, Richard's brother, a charismatic man who has spent his life traveling the world. India did not know he existed, and his presence unsettles her from the very first moment. Stoker is a psychological thriller directed by Park Chan-wook, her English-language debut, and stars Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman and Matthew Goode.

Trivia about Stoker

Philip Glass was hired to compose the score but was replaced by Clint Mansell. Even so, two of his piano compositions remain in the film, as listed in the credits.
Wentworth Miller, known mainly as an actor, wrote the screenplay under the pseudonym Ted Foulke. He explained that he wanted his scripts to succeed or fail on their own merits.
Colin Firth was attached to the role of Charlie before Matthew Goode, but had to leave the project. In June 2011, it was reported that Goode was in talks to replace him.
Miller clarified that, although he was inspired by Bram Stoker's Dracula, the film is not about vampires. He does consider it a horror story, in his own words.
